What is the meaning of life?
Everyone reaches this point in life when they start to look for purpose in life. It is a desire to understand truth, which leads to an inner journey to discover what really matters, then people start to follow the path of fulfilling the purpose consciously.
More and more people are in the quest for meaning in life. Successful people who have enjoyed material comfort often conclude that it is no longer enough: now they seek greater meaning in life. The personal quest for Spirit has hit critical mass and personal growth is about to get a lot less personal; it is about to transform the collective. They are moving beyond personal healing into mission and activism, be it in communities, government or business.
Spirituality and Business
Spirituality was once taboo in business, but now, people are suffering by not being able to address spiritual part of themselves. The idea that there is an impenetrable barrier between Spirit and business does not hold true any more. Corporate leaders are finally beginning to get that to succeed in a competitive global marketplace, business must figure out how to tap into the creativity and innovation - in other words, the God power - within people. Many corporations started sponsoring "spirit at work" and transforming their workplace.
Apple allows employees to take 30 minutes each day to meditate at work, providing classes on meditation and yoga on-site, and offering the use of a meditation room.
Google has a program called “Search Inside Yourself” which helped more than 500 employees learn how to breathe mindfully, listen to their coworkers, and even improve their emotional intelligence. On a regular basis, the company also offers meditation space and meditation courses, believing that meditation can help improve not only employee mental health and well-being but the company’s bottom line as well.
Nike allows employees to have access to relaxation rooms, which they can use to take a nap, pray, or of course meditate. In addition to these quiet rooms, employees can also take part in meditation and yoga classes without ever having to leave the office.
TELUS Mobility, Canada's second largest telecom company, supports popular, spiritually based workshops to boost energy, decision-making ability, productivity, responsibility, reflection and self-esteem.
Bill George, former CEO of Medtronic, says meditation enables him to forget less important events and focus with clarity on significant issues. "My most creative ideas come out of meditation."
